Salary Negotiation

Compensation is usually the biggest hurdle in the process for almost everyone.

How much should I be asking for?  How should I ask for it?  When should I ask?  What ELSE should I be asking for?  How do I know if I have thought of everything?

I've designed compensation programs for hundreds of companies.  HUNDREDS.  And I have designed employment agreements for these companies to use as well.  From Fortune 50 to start-ups to private-held to nonprofit organizations...my client list is large, pre-eminent, progressive and exciting.

What does that mean?  I know what should be in the offer letter! I know what information should be included for bonuses, equity, NDA's and other restrictive clauses - and I know what shouldn't be in there too.

I know all the things you should be considering - or shouldn't be considering.

I will work with you personally to review your offers and ensure that not only will you earn MORE money, you won't be leaving money on the table or- WORSE - signing a restrictive clause that could hurt you in the future.

Want to do it on your own?  No problem.  I wrote a book just for you.

I have created hundreds of compensation plans for companies and developed the actual job offers given to their prospective employees. I understand how compensation works and how YOU should be discussing the offer to get everything you want.

I created a detailed, step by step guide to help you navigate the negotiation process. Learn how and what to say, what should or should NOT be included in a contact and how to make the entire process LESS STRESSFUL.

All my clients tell me this process has helped them feel more confident, get the money (or benefits!) they wanted and feel really good about the discussions.

Want me to review your contract?

Compensation Offer Review - $500

Includes a review of a proposed compensation offer as well as a written document discussing the review, competitive practice, potential gaps, and negotiating options for compensation, benefits, restrictive clauses and other common contract provisions.

I will let you know if the actual levels of what is being offered is competitive (base, bonus, stock options/equity and benefits), plus whether the terms would be considered market practice.  My clients want to know more than just whether the base salary is competitive.  They want to know what is missing.  They want to know whether the bonus target and max are appropriate...or the value of the stock options/equity being offered.  They want to know whether to ask for a sign-on bonus, guaranteed bonus or relo package.

I can help you make sure you aren't making BIG mistakes by signing the contract without having it reviewed.

Contact me today.  Let's get you started.
